Ignore his holier than thou attitude...
There are indeed times when non-computer scientist types will find dynamic function creation and
invocation quite handy.
I can't stand know it all mentalities :(
Remember kiddies...formal education doesn't equal intelligence...it just means they have an
ability to sit through boring lectures which one can teach him/herself in half the time, if they so
desire :)
In know-it-alls defense (sorta) I can say that "newbies" should likely ignore this
functionality...but in "newbies" defense I can say they probably will...because even
advanced programmers with years of experience behind them will find it difficult at best finding a
"reason" to use these functions in everyday code.
IMHO RTTI, etc...usually only comes in handy when designing/implementing frameworks...
And possibly when writing some crazy advanced algorithm....like...Fibonacci number sequence??? LOL
In any case...ignore comp sci students/grads...they know nothing and think they know
everything...its why I dropped out of that stupid course to begin with...
In all fairness...I can't say ignore ALL comp sci grads...indeed there are some who are far
more knowledgeable than most of us...the key is weeding out the losers and picking the winners...
Usually bashful, quiet types who have been programming long before most people even knew what
computers were...
Have more questions than answers, but are quick to reply with their opinion but only when asked...
Cheers :)
