It appears that mysql_close() and the bool new_link parameter for mysql_connect() doesn't work
on windows. I was able to run 100 selects before the mysql_connect() ran out of resources (similar
to a note below).
Using mysql_close() and bool new_link worked on Linux (php 5.0.4 connecting to mysql 4.1.10-nt) but
NOT on windows (php 5.0.4 connecting to mysql 4.1.10-nt).
Probably doesn't matter to most developers, just caught me out at the testing stage.
