You naively complain about the fact that his REGEX allows a dot to be present in the email name, such as "a.b@example.com" - expecting that it shouldn't. Well, I suggest you open your eyes and look around. Many corporate email addresses separate the person's first and last name with a dot. My own email is lew.payne at gmail dot com... so as you can plainly see, a dot is allowed in the name field (two consecutive dots are not).
