My thanks to the editor who pointed out the serialization bug. According to the bug report, this should be fixed in version 5.0.4, and is confirmed fixed in v 5.0.5. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to update my installation, but I found that passing the serialized string through addslashes before saving it to the database does the trick. It may be a bit inefficient, but it works. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.serialize.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+57676 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: non-english -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes&reason=non-english Delete: already in docs -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes&reason=already+in+docs Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+57676&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+57676&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
