Apache 2, Windows XP and PHP 5 Sessions drove me nuts!!!
I messed with the PHPIniDir directive (httpd.conf) with and without slashes. With the last slash I
lost my extensions so php_mssql.dll wouldnt load. But sessions would work. Every new page created
a new session tempoarary file.
PHPIniDir "c:/windows"
Then I got really confused and checked php.ini and could see nothing wrong. To top it all it PHP
worked fine on the same system using IIS.
I eventually found that Apache and PHP session only worked when I set the save path with double
backslashes NOT forward slashes!
session.save_path = "c:\\php\\sessiondata"
Hooray... two hours later but it works.
