I have just spent a long time using the following to bind to Active Directory on Win2003 Server: $user = "domainname\username"; $password = "Password"; ldap_bind($conn, $user,"$password"); The bind returned successfully but I could only use it to run ldap_searches as domain admin, e.g. $user = "domainname\admin"; When I used a normal user account the bind still succeeded but the ldap_search returned false. Changing the $user to use double-back-slashes fixed it: $user = "domainname\\user"; ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.ldap.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+58645 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: non-english -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes&reason=non-english Delete: already in docs -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes&reason=already+in+docs Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+58645&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+58645&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
