Norton Firewall apparently prevents the REFERER HTTP from being sent, so

print '$_SERVER[\'HTTP_REFERER\'] = '.$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
?>
outputs
$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] =
However, JavaScript still picks up the referrer, so the following snippet still displays the
referring URL:
