Nice suggestions given here, but I'm missing my own personal favorite: Microweb! It's a
VERY PORTABLE server platform with apache/mysql/php/cgi that runs on any Winxx platform. It supports
all possible PHP extensions / libraries and the Zend optimizer / decrypter.
With portable I mean "take it with you in your pocket" on a CD-Rom, USB stick, CF card,
etc...
I use it as a development platform on my workstation although I also have access to several Linux
servers.
It allows you to put a fully working php / mysql website on CD (and run it from CD!!!) or to run it
from Harddisk: no installations needed, just the executables.
It's fully functional shareware without expiration date and has been my favorite ever since it
came out.
Ideal to give a demo of your php sites / applications to a (potential) client without internet
connection, or as a development environment if you don't want to have a full "server
install" on your workstation, or if you want to be able to take your whole development
environment with you, on the road :o) and run it on any winxx computer... etc...
Give it a try, you won't be sorry: get Microweb at http://www.indigostar.com/
