Well it definately means that everybody needs to take this into account if they dont want notices in php 4.4/5.1 .. so it will be commited? maybe QA (or i can do it as well) should mail pear-dev to detail the "issue" .. I just sent a mail to the list.
generally we need a release push for all of these notices. alot of them are just in CVS.
