Hi, Actually, it is implemented - phpDocumentor uses replacements successfully, and I have written unit tests for replacements that show they work great in the old and new versions of PEAR (in the 1.2.1 version, typos would cause all kinds of problems, but successful things work) Just use this: instead of <file role="php" name="NestedSet.php" /> use <file role="php name="NestedSet.php"> <replace type="package-info" from="@API_VERSION@" to="version" /> </file> and then use: function apiVersion() { $a = '@API_VERSION@'; return $a{0}; } It's a slight hack, but it returns the major version number :) Greg Daniel Khan wrote:

Yes - mistake - was createLeftNode() to create a node before the target node.

Followinf recent discussion it should be

function apiVersion() { return '@API_VERSION@'; }

Pierre just told me that it isn't implemented yet but I'll simply name my method apiVersion() for now. Thanks a lot
