Recomended way for patch generation:
# cd /cvs/php.net/pear/NET_Ping/
Retrive the last version
# cvs update
Make the modifications you want
# editor Ping.php
Check if there were no modifications while you
was modifing the file. If there were, re-adapt your
patch to this last release.
# cvs update
Generate the patch against the last CVS version
# cvs diff -u Ping.php > ping_diff.txt
Attach the ping_diff.txt in your mail to pear-dev. Never paste the
content of the patch inside the e-mail because most clients wrap long
lines and will break the patch.
