Hi Folks: I posted an email message to the list back on September 20 titled "DB_ERROR constants update." No one had an opportunty to respond. I'm now subscribing to the list in order to put forth another effort to improve PEAR's database error reporting. Here's what that message had to say... vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv I've just started using PEAR's DB classes. My backend is MySQL. Some of my applications depend on trapping particular errors, so I I went hunting to learn PEAR's error message generation routines and which messages are associated with which MySQL errors. I was surprised to see that only a small handful of MySQL error messages have been given constants in mysql.php. Well, took things into my own hands: http://www.analysisandsolutions.com/pear/. There, you'll find two tab delimited files. pear.mysql.error.txt contains all of MySQL error messages, constants and numbers. The related PEAR constants are next to them. For items that weren't already tied to a PEAR error constant, I added new associations. One column also contains suggestions that aren't existing PEAR constants, but probably should be. A notation of my proposed error constants that should be added to DB.php reside in pear.proposed.db.errors.txt. I'll be glad to make a diff/patch file, but I figured someone more deeply involved in the project should look over / edit my proposed relationships before doing that. You know, perhaps I don't understand what an existing constant really meant. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I look forward to hearing from y'all.
