i am now writing a manual again (in OpenOffice.org) and my goals for it are:
- convert it to pdf to distribute it with the product
- use it as the online help in the product itself
(a webapplication of course)
- convert the document to HTML and make it referable for the
online help system with urls like
http://.../manual/<topicName>.php#<subtopic>
therefore i was thinking to go the following way:
converting the document
OOo => DocBook => HTML
since we also have docBook here it could also be useable for all the pear-docs
the only definitions i think that need to be made are:
- an OOo-template is needed, which can be converted, since only
predefined style (like Heading 1, source code, etc.) are used
the problem:
is there a good OOo2DocBook converter - i guess it needs to be customized anyway, since the styles of OOo that will be defined to be used might mean something special and need to be converted to a special DocBook tag.
was there any useable result from the last discussion? is anybody working on something alike?
