true: there's no DOCUMENT_ROOT when i check out phpinfo(), whether or not i
set it in php.ini.

I haven´t read the full thread so I might be pointing in the completely
wrong direction here:
Maybe there´s still a problem because $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] ist not
existant on IIS? Christian, did you find a solution for this?
