Peter, can you sign up (if not already) on pear-dev, ernani, is also planning on doing some work, so it's probably easier to co-ordinate on the mailing list rather than me centerpointing this :)
just to recap -
you where planning to break out the main part of the code into a seperate c file. I guess the majority of the 'non-php functions' stuff.
It would be nice to move away from cheesy #defines for the writing, to a real c function..
Other than that, I think the TODO file covers most of the stuff..
I have been thinking about how to 'hack' the include not being able to pass globals through..
in theory:
include('somefile.php');
would map to ..
foreach(array_keys(get_declared_vars()) as $k) { $_bcompiler_mapvars[$k] =& $$k; }
$_bcompiler_mapvars = bcompiler_include('somefile.phc', $_bcompiler_mapvars);
foreach(array_keys($_bcompiler_mapvars) as $k) { $$k = &$_bcompiler_mapvars[$k] }
I'm not sure how well that would work... - but as far as I remember, it was difficult for bcompiler_include(), to behave as like 'include', as it executes like a standard php function.
I'm going to be at the conference in Frankfurt next week, so getting actual work done may be difficult, but I should be able to follow email.
Regards
Alan
