This is a feature which might be really useful and which has been
similiarly suggested by Wolfram Kriesing some time ago. (IIRC he even
implemented it in his Auth package.) Unfortunately I'm pretty busy at
university and so I expect that *I* will not make any big changes at
Auth in the near future.
But if you want to provide a patch for implementing this behaviour,
you should go ahead.
