All you need to do in order to support different frontends is to split
up the handling of user input in a "send" and "receive" part. Frontend
abstractions can be a bit tricky, as we've experienced with the
installer. So if you can do with a very simple layer, I would recommend
that. If you need a real layer, we should refactor the PEAR_Frontend
API to be generic.
