Yes, that is true. But AFAIK with safe_mode this will still does not
work, because files with different owner are included/required and this is
in safe_mode forbidden. Please correct me, if I'm wrong.
On all my webhosting servers is safe_mode in use, thus I must have
my own PEAR installations in home directories, because safe_mode forbids
inclusions from /usr/lib/php since files are owned by root:root.
