Net_Socket: extending in case of more connection options

hi, what about the Net_Socket extension to become more general ? it would need php's socket extension then, but i think that's ok. the socket extensions is very stable so far. well, if it would be able to create tcp, udp or unix domain sockets it should be moved to a new Pear category. something like "Connections". lots of stuff could be moved into there. i think a nice solution would be something like that : $client = new Socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 'TCP', $host, $port); it's always extensionable for new protocols, domains and types. bye
