Hello all,
Those of you who are writing your own templates for the HTMLdefaultConverter
in phpDocumentor need to know that we are not going to do any more work on
it, and all of the templates are being moved to a new Converter that uses
the Smarty template. If you have a template that you've put a lot of work
into perfecting, please send it to me and I will be happy to convert it to
the new Smarty format and send it back to you. This is even if you don't
wish it to be bundled with the next release.
If many people send their templates, it will take a while, but I will get to
all of them so that no one's work on templates for the old converter is
fruitless.
In most cases, it is simply replacing {variable} with {$variable}, but any
loops need reformatting to {section} tags and all the loop variables need
reformatting. In addition, several things like {descmethod} have been
replaced with more detail to allow flexibility.
If you would like to see the current (UNSTABLE) cvs work, you can download a
cvs snapshot at:
http://developer.phpdoc.org/downloads/
The new converter is HTMLframesConverter, and so far I've only converted
over the default template. you can use the new convertr via
HTML:frames:default, although it won't look very different from
HTML:default:default (yet). The new templates are in subdirectory
phpDocumentor/Converters/HTML/frames/templates/default/templates.
Take care,
Greg Beaver
