PEAR Installation woes on Windows XP

Been messing around with 4.3 on my XP machine and the PEAR installation process is still not very much fun. the process blows up when trying to run the mkdir function (I experienced this when I tried to get the PEAR installer on 4.2 as well). Below is the output from my attempt... I am perfectly happy doing PEAR installs on my freeBSD machine and rsyncing the whole directory but... it would sure be nice to see this working :) ======================================== The following PEAR packages are bundled with PHP: DB, Net_Socket, Net_SMTP, Mail, XML_Parser.
