DataObject 0.10 & 0.11 bug??

I have a simple script that insert data into a table using DataObjects:
$task = new DataObjects_Staff_tasks;
$task->setFrom($_POST);
$task->inserted = 'now()';
$task->insert();
It doesn't work anymore using 0.12. Same happens with another similar script.
I first went back to 0.11 - same problem.
I then went back to 0.10 and all works fine.
I don't know how I can get to the actual mysql error so I can't work out what
the problem is. I can see the query though and when I cut and paste that into
a mysql console it inserts the row just fine..
