Hi,
I'm wondering the best way to solve a problem that may not be unique to
phpDocumentor.
Right now, we have several converters, and the codebase is getting rather
large (we're almost to a megabyte, compressed). I'd like to be able to
release the core and converters separately, to allow users to download the
converters they plan to use, and not the others. Not everyone, for
instance, will need the CHM and PDF converters.
Is it possible to release subpackages, and tell pear to install them in a
subdirectory of PhpDocumentor?
This would be wonderful, as we could release updates to the core without
having to re-upload the converters, or vice-versa. It would allow
separation of development of each converter, and we can give different
version statuses (alpha for the XML:DocBook converter, beta to the PDF
converter, stable to HTML converters, for example).
Thanks,
Greg
