As some may have heard, I am working on PHP# (although development has slowed a little due to the need to earn some cash doing paid work.)
Anyway, on of the bits of the project is a PHP Lexer. - Similar in concept to flex (which is what drives the PHP tokenizer in C).
I am 90% done changing the engine in HTML_Template_Flexy to use code generated by it. So that I can do a full HTML/Flexytags parser, and generate a minimal(read very simple) cached HTML DOM enabling it to do things like
<table>
<tr name="foreach:somevar,a,b">
....
</tr>
</table>
.. which is converted at template building time to
<? foreach($this->somevar as $a=>$b) { ?><tr>
....
</tr><? } >?>
etc.
It also adds object variables and error output to Form elements...
along with the 'classic' flexy tags..
------- Well, you know the classic template thing - if it suits you use it.. otherwise ignore it.. :)
The Question is.. - I can stick the phpLexer in a subdirectory of HTML/Template/Flexy/phpLex/*
or should it have it's own home somewhere? in pear.......
The odd thing about this is that it's written in C# (a fork of csLex)..
so it's not a PECL or classic PEAR package..
-- and the code needs tidying up quite a bit (although it works)
Anyone got any great ideas on this?
Regards
Alan
