I've committed a different version of this functionality. Instead of adding a new parameter (which you named 'authMethod'), I decided to reuse the 'auth' parameter: $params['auth'] = false; // No SMTP authentication $params['auth'] = true; // Let Net_SMTP choose the best method $params['auth'] = 'PLAIN'; // Force PLAIN authentication My changes to the PEAR Mail package only exist in CVS at the moment. I'm not the primary maintainer of the package, so I can't say when the next version will be released. However, if no one makes a release in the relatively near future, I'll try and find the time to do so. -- Jon Parise (jon@php.net) :: The PHP Project (http://www.php.net/)
