I am at the O'Reilly Boininformatics conference, and made the patch during a short break in between sessions, while playing w/ Text_Statistics. One interesting thing is that in the realm of DNA/RNA/Protein sequences, you deal w/ string statistics too. I got some code lying around for that. Perhaps adding one more package to the "Science" section of PEAR for things like sequence similarities and such? Will toy w/ the idea later.
