Well, _getLinksUrl() method is basically the same as in PEAR::Pager. Its
purpose is to keep externally set $_GET (query-string) variables along
the different pages. For instance, if your page/application needs an
extra "order=ID" parameter, it doesn't get lost after the first page.
I'm not sure I understood what you mean, though... maybe you're looking
for "path" and "filename" options... Or is it a querystring issue?
Please let me know...
I know this feature under name "original CGI variables feature". I do not
know exactly how _getLinksUrl() works, howewer I consider as a more
desirable way of doing this following approach:
$obj = new Object();
$obj->setOriginalVariables(array(
'order' => $order,
'ID' => $ID,
'sessid' => $sessid));
$obj->someOtherMethodCalls();
Autodetection of GET variables can result into ugly URLs containing lot of
unnecessary garbages and unwanted parameters. It is better to have
possibility of explicit definition what HTTP GET variables should persist
in query string accross various page reloads.
Yeah, I agree with you. Many users prefer don't having to worry about
their urls, though, so an autodetection system is necessary IMO...
I'd like to receive other opinions too about this subject, before changing
anything...
