Hi,
I would really really appreciate it if bug fixes for PEAR DB would also
be send to me so that I can check if they also apply to MDB.
Furthermore I would like to once again ask about how feature additions
to PEAR DB will be handled in the future. Pretty much all feature
additions I have seen in the last year or so to PEAR DB have been things
that have been feature candy IMHO that give PEAR DB a sort of query
builder functionality. autoPrepare/autoExecute and now the addition on
yet another place where prepared queries can be used to not have to
write out the entire query by being able to use prepare where you
actually don't intent to reuse the prepared query again.
All of these changes don't belong in the core of PEAR's choice
abstraction layer; especially since we have 2 very capable Query
Builders now in PEAR that should make the "easy of use" fraction happy.
Aside from the fact that I don't think that these features belong in DB,
I also have to incorporate these changes into MDB or at least the MDB
PEAR DB wrapper. Therefore I would also appreciate it if changes to DB
would be mailed to me directly.
I do try to read CVS commits, but I can obviously overlook such things.
Finally I would like to hear what the general feeling is about PEAR DB's
future in relation to PEAR MDB.
Regards,
Lukas Smith
