I want to contribute to PEAR, this class more simple than 'Damian Alejandro Fernandez Sosa, NET/IMAP' class. This class idear is port from Net::IMAP::Simple module from CPAN, any idea, vote?
I wonder if we really need two IMAP classes serving exactly the same purpose but with different APIs?
What are the specific advantages of a Net/IMAP/Simple? Will it be simpler than the abstracted API of Damian's Net/IMAP? Is it more lightweight? If so, then I can see a benefit in having both. Perhaps the Net/IMAP protocol-level stuff could be split into a Basic/Full dichotomy, and then a Net/IMAP/Simple could use just the Basic half of that while still making use of existing PEAR code, and Damian's abstraction could implement the Full protocol functionality. Any thoughts? Lux
