configuration settings in PEAR

As far as I can tell PEAR doesn't have a configuration file, which people can use to store Class specific configurable parameters! I may be wrong. If this is the case, don't you think that there should be a configuration file? At the moment it seems that classes store any config vars inside the php script containing the class, however this makes it very simple to overwrite existing settings from an end-user point of view! Do you think that a pear.ini file should be introduced which each class can use to store there config vars? Any thoughts, Kelvin
