As mentioned on internals, i'm working on a (partial) port of ICU
(http://oss.software.ibm.com/icu/). preliminary results are at
http://www.pearfr.org/~cshmoove/ . as a brief
description : this extension
essentially covers the functionality of the existing I18N package and adds
some extended functionality. the caveat is that it currently only builds
under Windows.
comments, criticisms, suggestions, and programming help all accepted.
A very big thank you to Pierre-Alain Joye for providing the webspace.
