Number_Base - conflicting package Math_BaseX

Sorry - I must have been blind. There is already a package that allows conversion from one Base to another - Math_BaseX. It is fairly old, though, and seems to be not worked on. My question is: Are concurrenting packages allowed? I don't like the interface of Math_BaseX (You have to instantiate it, instead of just using the functions) and plan to add more features to it. (some of them mentioned in my previous post). Or should i ask the maintainer if i can modify it? (And have to work with the existing interface). Btw, maybe Number should be a subset of Math - it is hard to decide where a package belongs IMO. Regards, Stefan Walk
