Hi Hans ODBTP provides full support for SQL Server 2000. It allows you to prepare queries like {? = call AddName( ?, ? )}, and actually retrieve any output parameters. It also completely supports UNICODE fields ntext and nvarchar by processing them using UTF-8. This allows you to use the "FOR XML" T-SQL consttruct available in SQL 2k. Click on the "features" and "examples" links on the ODBTP home page (http://odbtp.sourceforge.net). I followed the sybase/mssql function naming and parameter scheme whenever it was possible. I chose not to alias the extension prefix, i.e., mssql_ -> odbtp_, so that it would not interefere with existing applications while people are testing it. Another peculiarity about the odbtp extension is that while it uses ODBC it behaves more like the mssql extension than it does the odbc extension. As a result I will probably modify it to take over the mssql extension's namespace. -- bob On Wed, 23 Apr 2003, Hans Lellelid wrote: > > No & no :-) So that makes sense.
