Seems to fix the situation indeed. The patch seems ok to me as since

only creates more "work" in the rare case when the sequence does not

exist.
BTW: maybe you want to report this in bug.php.net anyways. I am currently working through all DB bugs, but I will not commit to DB since its not my package.
