Firstly, the live audio stream at 32Kbps whilst not having much on it, streams just fine in winXP using Winamp 2.9x. (WTF *am* I listening too?)
With the IRC, perhaps having two channels, #pear for general discussion between users listening/watching *about* the meeting and #pear.meeting where its set to +m (moderated) and if anyone has a question, they ask the designated moderator for the channel who will then +v (voice) them so they cna speak in the channel.
This is probably the best way to do this IMO.

I will also try and record the streams so people who missed it can watch/listen to it later. I think we should try and let as many users watch and listen to the streams, but I think we should really limit the amount of people actively participating because too many people would just mean chaos. We will need some sort of IRC moderator to do that I guess. JeroenNo - i mean bandwidth problems. What happens if 40 people want to attend via v/a? I want to dicuss - impossible if i get an picture-show only, or get no connect because the bandwidth limit is reached.Isn't it critical to allow everybody to join via video/audio stream?I think this stream is a one-way deliver-only thing. So everybody can see and listen to what happens. Is that what you mean ?
