These are the elements I extended package.xml with (identified by the "ext:"
namespace). They proved useful for projects where you use the PEAR Package
Manager, but develop and deploy outside of the PEAR realm:
<package version="1.0"
xmlns="http://pear.php.net"
xmlns:ext="http://www.example.com/NS/">
<!-- URL to Website of package, useful for non-pear packages -->
<ext:homepage>http://www.example.com?package=mypackage</ext:homepage>
<release>
<!-- added url attribute, useful to point to FOSS or proprietary licenses;
also added version attribute for license version -->
<license ext:url="http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt"
ext:version="2">LGPL</license>
<!-- infos about copyright holder -->
<ext:copyright>
<ext:year>2002</ext:year>
<ext:year>2003</ext:year>
<ext:holder url="http://www.example.com">Example
Company</ext:holder>
</ext:copyright>
<!-- infos about documentation -->
<ext:docs xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">
<ext:doc>
<!-- information about documentation in DublinCore metadata,
http://www.dublincore.org -->
<dc:title>How To</dc:title>
<dc:creator>Mr. X</dc:creator>
<!-- here we provide either an absolut URL or/and one relative to our
package -->
<dc:identifier>http://www.example.com/HOWTO</dc:identifier>
<dc:identifier>HOWTO</dc:identifier>
</ext:doc>
<ext:doc>
</release>
</package>
Nevertheless, it would be nice to know the package.xml namespace ;)
