I have made successful connections by just leaving out the host part.
Please try this:
$dsn = "odbc://user:password@BUSINESS";
If this works for you and this topic is not documented anywhere in the
manual (I have not looked for it yet), it should possibly be fixed in
PEAR::DB or documented.
