DB::isError funny error

I am getting a 'Problem with method call' when calling DB::isError some of the time. It
is not happening on all calls but is consistantly happening on certain calls. Here is a small sample
of the code that is producing the warning:
$sql = "....";
$result = $dbConn->query($sql);
if (DB::isError($result)) {
return $result;
}
The query is successful and the data comes back fine but produces the warning. If I change the
isError call to $dbConn->isError($result); it runs with no warning.
I have been using DB for awhile now and I have never encountered this before. Has any one else seen
this?
