PHPUnit Development

Dovie'andi se tovya sagain! As those of you who are subscribed to the pear-cvs mailinglist may have noticed over the past few days already -- a lot of work has been done on the all-new PHPUnit. PHPUnit 1.0.0-dev is now stable enough so I moved it from the ZEND_ENGINE_2 CVS branch to HEAD. PHPUnit 0.x development, which will now be limited to bugfixes, continues in the new ZEND_ENGINE_1 branch. The new PHPUnit is split into these packages: - PHPUnit is a port of the junit.framework and junit.extensions packages to PHP. - PHPUnit_CodeCoverage is a Test Decorator that utilizes Derick's excellent Xdebug extension to generate reports on what parts of the production code are covered by the unit tests run by PHPUnit. - PHPUnit_MockObjects, which is currently in an early planning phase, will facilitate developing unit tests in the mock object style. - PHPUnit_GtkUI is looking for volunteers who know the ins and outs of PHP-GTK to create a graphical frontend for PHPUnit in the style of http://nunit.org/files/nunit-v20/gui-screenshot.gif - PHPUnit_WebUI, which is currently in an early planning phase, will provide a web-based frontend for PHPUnit.
