For a first test call 'pear config-show'. You should see a new entry called 'registry_dir' set to the same value like 'php_dir'. Edit this value - and try 'pear list'. No packages should be installed (because the new registry is empty). Try a little bit with installing packages etc. - especially with PECL Extensions! If nobody found an error while the next days, i will commit it CVS.
