While I agree that Net_Curl (in pear cvs) needs more maintenance, this
is not the way to go. I don't see how your approach adds anything over
just using the cURL extension itself (besides extra execution time, of
course. :) The purpose of Net_Curl is to provide a simple, easy to use
interface to the cURL extension. From what I see, this class does
nothing more than provide a brittle OO wrapper around the cURL
extension.
