Heh :) I think this separate Schema Manager is a very, very nice idea. I don't have a PEAR account, but +1 for what it's worth. I think that the manager class being a stand-alone package makes a lot of sense; I can see (and would be interested in helping with), for example, creating PhingTasks to create/update databases on project build based on schema files.
