Hi,
The problem with the current method of installation is that the package must
be extracted before dependencies can be determined. A possible solution
(which would be very worthwhile to implement) would be to extract the
package.xml file at the server and send that before the download occurs, so
that failure on dependencies can happen prior to download. In this way, we
could add a dependency on Archive_Tar 1.1 and it would actually work.
