You can do it using the bin roles. The installer will take care to set
the correct FS flags to make it executable. Be sure to do not install it
under a subfolder, i.e. $prefix/bin/phpUnit/phpunit, in this case, the
command will not be in the path ;).
A very good example is pear itself. In the last versions we use
the same php script in both *nix and win32 command. Both commands
contains custom data that are customized during the installation process
using the replace feature.
