Great news :).
However it will be nice to post something on peardev before doing such
changes, not to get votes or anything like that, but just a nice and
usefull warning :-).
Many developers work with the cvs version for dev tests. Indeed if a lot
of pear packages switch to ZE2 in a short period, that will create a lot
of useless troubles;-).
That makes me think about some rules to name the branch inside pear,
consistency across the packages.
