I don't like the auto* methods personally.
I think this sort of stuff should not go into the core of DB but rather
into a separate class of helper methods.
Anyways if you want to contribute the code, you may want to wait until
you hear from the maintainers/developers on if and how they would want
to see this integrated. You would then send them a patch. Only if you
frequently send in patches that work as expected will you be offered
direct CVS access.
