Status: Open
Bug Type: PEAR related
Operating System: Linux
PHP Version: 4.3.0
Assigned To: cox
New Comment:
I did a test install with the latest stable version of PHP (PHP 4.3.2
(tar.bz2) [3,611Kb] - 29 May 2003). I am still experiencing the same
problem with installing the PEAR files on a NFS mounted drive.
Make install with the related install-pear-* make directives will fail
on NFS and many other networked file systems.
Due to the use of flock() in php-4.3.2/pear/PEAR/Registry.php at line
282.
A possable fix is to handle the block while locking on netword file
systems via the use of the LOCK_NB operation.
See: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.flock.php

Jani had put the status NOF but we had a bug in bugs and the status
wasn't changed so I changed it to no feedback since we didn't get any.
You should think a bit before talking.

Hello,
Stop to take care of bugs you do not know the real status. I strongly
suggest you to do not change status to anything you are not involved
in.

No feedback was provided. The bug is being suspended because
we assume that you are no longer experiencing the problem.
If this is not the case and you are able to provide the
information that was requested earlier, please do so and
change the status of the bug back to "Open". Thank you.

Someone to confirm that? Then to confirm the possible fix?
I do not have NFS system on any boxes here.
