As I spent about three hours to discover the strange behavior of php in setting $this
when static methods are called from a class, before I came to the same solution as
Greg commited to CVS, I'm +1 for a new release ;) would have saved me a large
headache. (at least I learned to check the mailing list archives first when something
seems strange). I sure hope this behavior is "fixed" in php5, as that just seems
broken to me.
