Maybe if you volunteer to write docs you could go for some yet undocumented packages and donate (English!) docs for those instead? But it's just a personal view of things ... I agree - but it is easier to start manual writing in your mother tongue. At the beginning it is not simple to handle two foreigner language. (englisch+docbook ;-)
