This is not a DataObject bug. Without using the Zend Optimizer it works. Download the newest DB_DataObject version from cvs and read the warnings at the beginning of the file:
THIS MAY SEGFAULT PHP IF YOU ARE USING THE ZEND OPTIMIZER (to fix it, just add "define('DB_DATAOBJECT_NO_OVERLOAD');" before you include this file.
